US Northeast Thunderstorms Once Again Causing Delays; Air Canada Offering Rebookings

Thunderstorm Rain

It's like deja vu all over again.

Severe weather and operational limits in several regions are once again prompting schedule changes, rebooking support, and alternate routing for affected Air Canada customers flying in and out of BOS, EWR, LGA and PHL.

As of publication time, FlightAware data shows 195 cancellations and 1,522 delays across multiple US airports today, with more expected. Yesterday, there were 4,625 delays in total in the US and 109 cancellations, with BOS leading the pack.

Travel advisors should prepare clients for extended connection times and rerouting.

It's a similar story to last week, when many of the same airports were affected due to thunderstorms on the East Coast.
