The Cabinet of Thailand has approved a tourist fee of USD $8 for every incoming air passenger, which will come into effect by JUN, reports TravelMole. Travellers entering the country by land or sea will be charged USD $4. Tourists transiting through the country will be exempt from the fee. According to a government spokesperson, the fee includes accident insurance protection for foreign tourists and will be used to maintain tourist attractions and infrastructure.
