On Monday, 26JUN, the union representing over a hundred Lynx pilots sent notice to the ULCC of its intentions to open negotiations for the pilot group’s first collective agreement.
ALPA is the world’s largest pilot’s union and has scored big wins for Canadian pilots recently, with an historic deal for WestJet Group pilots that will see them with a 24 per cent pay raise over 4 years, as Open Jaw has reported. Air Canada pilots also recently voted to join ALPA and end their 10-year labour agreement a year early to begin negotiations this summer.
“We are thrilled to utilize the expertise and resources that ALPA has to offer as we begin negotiations for our first collective agreement,” said acting MEC chair Capt. Randall Hulkenberg. “Our pilots have been clear they want to support management’s plans for the future, as our airline continues to grow.”
