AMS Introducing Artificial Intelligence Hand Luggage Screening to Speed up Security Lines

AMS has announced it’s using an AI solution to check hand luggage using algorithms. The process will be used to “identify prohibited items and other security risks. Ideally, this will assist airport security staff and speed up the process further.”

The process of AI detecting prohibited items in real time as bags pass through scanning equipment has been trialed in two airports in Scotland, but according to Simple Flying, AMS is the first major European airport to fully launch the new technology.
