DeSantis Proposes Law Permanently Banning Mask, Vaccine Mandates in FL

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is seeking to ban mask and vaccine mandates across the state with a series of policy proposals that would permanently prevent public health authorities from implementing virus outbreak mitigation efforts, which would also include vaccine passports and employer vaccination requirements.

As previously reported by Open Jaw, DeSantis has taken a hard stance against vaccine mandates in the past - fighting with cruise lines over CDC vaccination requirements for sailing.

Florida's previous policies are set to end in JUN 2023. They were designed to thwart U.S. federal and CDC COVID-19-related mandates, which have already mostly expired.

The Florida state legislature is set to vote on DeSantis’ proposal after they return in MAR, reports the Daily Beast.
