Iceland’s PLAY Launches Flights to Europe From YHM in June

PLAY, a low-cost airline operating flights between Iceland and Europe, is coming to Canada.

The carrier plans to inaugurate service to 13 European destinations from Hamilton via its KEF hub.

Amsterdam is the latest addition to PLAY’s European lineup. Flights from Hamilton’s John C. Munro airport launch on 22JUN, with fares starting as low as $169. Although a search of PLAY’s website didn’t result in fares close to that advertised price.

PLAY has been operating flights between Iceland and Europe, and North America since 2022. Its hub at Keflavik Airport in Iceland, is “perfectly positioned” between the two continents, according to the airline.

It’s described as a “streamlined, no-frills service” without features like wifi and entertainment, allowing the airline to keep costs low.
