Transport Minister Omar Alghabra has announced he's stepping down from his ministerial post.
The news comes as the Liberal government has signalled a cabinet shuffle, and following Alghabra's announcement that he will not be running in the next federal election.
Alghabra is among three other ministers who say they aren't running for federal office again when the next election is called.
He was first elected in 2006 and says he will support the prime minister's vision and cabinet decisions going forward.
Alghabra made the announcement on twitter:
I have news to share: after a lot of reflection, I decided to not run in the next election. As a result I will be stepping aside from cabinet. I was first elected in 2006 and have had the journey of a lifetime. I’m grateful for every minute of it pic.twitter.com/1dNM28YRnN
