Intrepid Travel Opens New North American Operations Hub in Denver

Intrepid Travel

Intrepid Travel, a world leader in responsible travel, has officially moved its North American operations to Denver, CO as part of its ambitious 2030 growth strategy.

This shift from St. George, UT marks a major milestone in the company’s North American expansion—one that will fuel sustainable travel growth, deepen community impact, and tap into Denver’s thriving adventure travel scene.

"Intrepid aims to become a household name in the United States,” said Leigh Barnes, Intrepid Travel’s President, The Americas. "We’re taking bold steps to put purpose-driven travel at the forefront of the American market—which includes the strategic move to Denver. Our domestic growth strategy includes offering more Intrepid adventures closer to home.”

Why Denver? The Future of Intrepid Starts Here

Denver is the natural home for Intrepid’s North American expansion. A $37B outdoor economy, a top-ranked sustainable city, and proximity to industry leaders like The North Face and Leave No Trace make it the ideal base for growth. With a deep-rooted adventure culture, Denver is where Intrepid’s future leaders and innovators will shape the next era of purpose-driven travel.

"Our move to Denver is more than just an address change—it’s a statement of intent,” said Amanda Neiman, Intrepid Travel’s Operations Director. “Making a holiday special doesn’t have to mean being on the other side of the world. We’re here to create deeper experiences and share our vision for a better way to travel in America.”

Fueling Expansion: What’s Next for Intrepid

The move to Denver marks a key moment in Intrepid’s North American growth, following the full integration of Urban AdventuresIntrepid’s collection of locally-led, small-group city tours. The U.S. remains Intrepid’s largest DMC market, with 75% of Urban Adventures travelers coming from the region, and the company is scaling up to host 40,000+ travelers in 2025 across major cities, supported by a growing team of city managers and expert tour leaders.

As part of its expansion, Intrepid is building the largest guided backcountry trip portfolio in the U.S. and rolling out shorter, more flexible itineraries designed for today’s modern explorers. With its North American operations headquarters now in Denver, Intrepid Travel is making a clear statement: The future of travel is purpose-driven, sustainable, and happening right here in the U.S.
