Crystal Pays It Forward: Travel Advisors Get Commissions Faster

Crystal Serenity

How it works

The new commission payment schedule applies to all standard and Explorer Fare bookings that are paid in full and within the 100% penalty period:

  • Standard bookings (under 40 nights): Paid from 50 days before departure
  • Standard bookings (over 40 nights): Paid from 90 days before departure
  • 20% Explorer Fare bookings: Paid within 30 days of receiving final payment

This policy isn’t just for new bookings—Crystal is applying it retroactively to all existing, eligible reservations. Advisors can expect payments to roll out within the next 30 days for standard bookings, with Explorer Fare commissions processed in the coming months.

Supporting the frontline of travel

“Travel advisors are at the heart of our success, and we recognise the importance of providing them with the financial support they deserve—faster,” Matias Lira, SVP Trade Sales Americas, UK & EMEA at Crystal said.

“By accelerating commission payments, we’re reinforcing our commitment to our partners and ensuring they can focus on what they do best: crafting unforgettable journeys for their clients.”

For advisors, this means less waiting and more financial stability, making it easier to manage business expenses and reinvest in client services.

This news comes on the back of Crystal launching a new booking engine designed to enhance the experience for travel advisors last year. The platform offers upgraded features and improved support, streamlining the booking process.

What could this mean for the industry?

While the move is a win for advisors, it also reflects a broader trend of cruise lines recognising and rewarding their frontline sellers. With travel booming and luxury cruising in high demand, Crystal’s approach could set a new benchmark for commission payments across the industry.
