Club Med Brings Pickleball to Five Sun Destinations

 Club Med announced the launch of professional and recreational pickleball courts across its premier Sun Destination resorts.

This expansion aligns with the growing popularity of pickleball—North America’s fastest-growing sport—offering Club Med guests a unique opportunity to enjoy this dynamic, easy-to-learn paddle sport for all ages, in some of the world’s most beautiful tropical settings.​​

To celebrate, Club Med recently hosted an exclusive pickleball workshop in Montreal, Canada in collaboration with tennis star Eugenie Bouchard with local pickleball enthusiasts and content creators in the market. Known for her Grand Slam success and top-five global tennis ranking, Bouchard is the first Canadian-born player to reach the finals of a major singles tournament, finishing runner-up at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships. She has also previously won a Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour-level singles title at Nürnberg in 2014 and has now begun her professional pickleball journey as an official player on the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) tour. Bouchard continues to channel her love for Pickleball by bringing her competitive energy to the courts with Club Med.

The enhanced Family Oasis, situated near the Aguamarina area, will offer additional pickleball courts, family suites, and a dedicated pool. Guests will also enjoy new facilities, including a themed Splash Park, Mini Cinema, and an on-site Baby Club Med. In Martinique, Club Med Buccaneer’s Creek has announced upcoming Winter 2025 renovations that will revamp the remaining guest rooms with refreshed interiors, upgraded dining areas, and an expanded spa.

Pickleball Courts at Club Med’s Sun Destinations​

Club Med’s commitment to providing exceptional sports experiences for all levels and ages is reflected in the installation of 43 pickleball courts across five of its top Sun Destination resorts. With layouts designed to support both casual play and competitive tournaments, these courts cater to players by offering lessons for all levels and ages from ages 4 and up. Guests can now experience the thrill of pickleball at the following North America resorts:​

  • Club Med Cancún: 10 courts​
  • Club Med Turkoise: 10 courts​
  • Club Med Punta Cana: 8 courts​
  • Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda: 4 courts​
  • Club Med Ixtapa: 11 courts​

A Unique Pickleball Experience with Eugenie Bouchard​

Held on November 12 at Club Atwater in Montreal, the exclusive pickleball event featured Eugenie Bouchard, who shared her passion for the sport with a with local pickleball enthusiasts and content creators in the market. Attendees had the chance to play with Bouchard and participate in interactive games, gaining valuable tips from one of Canada’s top athletes. Vincent Giraud, Managing Director of Club Med Canada and Vice-President Sales Operations North America, also highlighted the brand’s unique pickleball offerings, emphasizing Club Med’s dedication to exceptional sports programming. ​
