‘The Intrepid List’ Hits the Shelves

Intrepid Travel’s first book, ‘The Intrepid List: 100 Uncommon Ways to Change the Way you Travel’ is available on November 26 to purchase online and in leading local bookstores. The first of its kind, the book shares a collection of more than 100 unique travel stories from around the globe, inspiring people to discover new destinations, experiences and perspectives through responsible travel.
From canoeing down the Okavango Delta in Botswana to pesto making in Levanto in Italy, The Intrepid List features 100 stories from all corners of the world, many of which are written by Intrepid’s own people – staff and trip leaders. This is in line with Intrepid’s strategic vision that the ‘World Needs More Intrepid People’ – a global community that is conscious, curious and connected. The book encourages people to explore in a different way, learning from locals to experience authentic and memorable moments, while emphasizing the importance of travelling in a conscious and ethical manner.
“This book is not a bucket-list, it’s for intrepid travellers - the explorers, thrill-seekers, foodies and festival goers – those that have a curiosity about the people and places that make up this amazing planet,” says Leigh Barnes, Chief Customer Officer at Intrepid Travel.  “The Intrepid List marks an important step in Intrepid’s journey, connecting our travellers by inspiring them to discover new destinations, communities and experiences in a whole new way."
“Intrepid and Hardie Grant Explore share a common belief that storytelling has the power to bring people together, challenge assumptions and change the way people see the world. This book is just the beginning of an exciting publishing partnership, underpinned by a desire to expand Intrepid into new verticals and use storytelling as a force to inspire positive change through travel,” Barnes adds.
The Intrepid List features 10 different chapters covering the themes of Food & Drink, Activities & Sports, Wildlife, Nature, Art & Culture, Festivals & Events, Slow Travel, Responsible Travel, Architecture and History. The first in a series of travel books, Intrepid plans to release two country-specific guidebooks per year in partnership with Hardie Grant Explore from 2025 onwards.
