Sunset at the Palms, an 85-room, adults-only, treehouse-style, all-inclusive resort located in Negril, Jamaica, will reopen to guests on Saturday, July 20, after embarking on a resort-wide cleanup effort in the wake of Hurricane Beryl. Celebrating its 21st anniversary this month, the boutique resort stood strong during the recent storm. Though the resort sustained very little structural damage, the hurricane did impact its famed trees, flowers and other vegetation.
“Sunset at the Palms weathered the storm remarkably well, and our guests, staff, and beloved goat Betty and her kids all remained safe,” said Evatt Bloomfield, the resort’s general manager. “Our thoughts are with the fellow Jamaican communities, Caribbean islands and resorts that didn’t fare as well as we did, and we appreciate the show of support demonstrated by so many of our past guests and industry friends.”
Now that its hard-working staff has returned Sunset at the Palms to its state of incredible natural beauty, the Jamaican-owned resort is eager to welcome guests back for its 21st year. To celebrate that anniversary, from now through July 31, Sunset at the Palms is offering two nights free when guests book a seven-night stay. The anniversary special also includes a $100 resort credit, SwayAway deferred payment option, and the resort’s “Change for Any Reason” waiver. Valued at $50, the waiver allows guests to cancel or change their hotel arrangements up to the day of their departure for any reason. This deal can be booked for travel dates that include August 17 through September 30, 2024, December 14 – 26, 2024, and March 15 through April 19, 2025. To book the anniversary special, guests must use code SATP21.
Sunset at the Palms invites both returning and new guests to pack hurricane-relief items – including new or gently used clothing, First Aid kits, toiletries, children’s toys and books, flashlights, and power banks (which must be packed in carry-on bags) – so the staff can donate items to people recovering from the hurricane in Negril and its surrounding communities.
“We feel for our island and all its people, and we want to help everyone we can,” Bloomfield said. “Our guests have always been like family, and family helps each other. We are most thankful for them and for their desire to lend a hand.”
