Arajet received its tenth Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, "Los Haitises."
The airline said the aircraft exhibits a special design with the Dominican flag painted all along the fuselage to highlight the Dominican Republic and the construction of the new air hub in the region.
The welcoming ceremony was led by the VP of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Peña, together with Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and Founder of Arajet, as well as the president of Boeing for Latin America, Landom Loomis, among other government officials, representatives of investors and company executives.
Pacheco Méndez, said “This tenth aircraft is special because it will increase the number of connections we make with the continent and reaffirm our commitment to all of Latin America to democratize the skies and to connect all our countries with low prices, the best quality and the warmth of Dominican service,” said Pacheco, who recalled that the airline currently flies to 23 destinations in 16 countries and hopes to fly to the United States in this 2024, as soon as the Dominican Republic close the signing of the open skies treaty with that nation.
Pacheco highlighted that Arajet in only one year and a half, transported over one million passengers increasing the number of tourists that visit the Dominican Republic as well as the number of transit passengers using the company to connect their countries.

recognized internationally when in 2023 we were awarded as the best new airline in the world at the World Aviation Summit, and that should fill us with pride."
“It is an honor for Arajet to be able to name this aircraft “Los Haitises”, a word of Taino origin that means high land or land of mountains; it is one of the most beautiful places of the Republic” Pacheco added that “this special design of this tenth aircraft shows that we are committed to increasing connectivity in the continent.
“Los Haitises” is a Boeing 737 MAX 8 with a 185-seat configuration, which landed on Dominican soil directly from the Boeing factory in Seattle, United States, and together with Pico Duarte, Valle Nuevo, Jaragua, Ojos Indígena, Los Tres Ojos, Isla Saona, Lago Enriquillo, Laguna Redonda and Bahía de las Águilas, continues to increase the capacity and fleet that have made the Dominican Republic the Hub of the Caribbean.
