NBC Universal announced that Holland America Line will be a first-time sponsor of Season 21 of the award-winning culinary series, “Top Chef.”
This sponsorship centers around Holland America’s culinary leadership and will tie into its Global Fresh Fish program, which is a first-of-a-kind program in the cruise industry. Program highlights include:
- Seafood offerings are sourced from 60 ports worldwide and the fleet will serve 80 types of fresh fish on board.
- Seafood is served from “Port to Plate” in less than 48 hours.
- Fresh fish and ingredients served are native to various regions.
- Chef Masaharu Morimoto is the Line’s ‘Fresh Fish Ambassador’.
“This sponsorship is another example of how Holland America is leading in the fresh fish space,” said Kacy Cole, chief marketing officer, Holland America Line. “We know when guests are at home they lean into fresh fish and seafood in their daily food purchases and restaurant choices, so we want to deliver that same fresh fish experience while onboard.”
As part of the “Top Chef” sponsorship, the penultimate elimination challenge filmed aboard Eurodam showcases the cheftestants preparing an eight-course fish tasting menu for the judges, with a surprise visit from Chef Morimoto. Holland America Line will award the winner of the challenge a $10,000 cash prize and 10-day Holland America Line cruise.
