Nobu Hospitality is opening five new hotels in 2023, and one will be Canada's first, in Toronto. Other debut properties this year include Rome, Marrakech, Atlantic City, and San Sebastián.
The company has also recently announced two additional properties in its development pipeline, with upcoming properties in Bangkok and Abu Dhabi bringing its portfolio to over 30 hotels.
The new Toronto property and Los Cabos also mark the 2023 launch of Nobu's first luxury residences. The company says it has six other residential projects in the pipeline, including Al Khobar, Danang, Abu Dhabi, Tulum, Orlando, and Punta Cana. Nobu says its residences will provide design that evokes the brand, elevated amenities including Nobu dining and room service for its residents and "unparalleled access to the surrounding area through a dedicated team."
2023 marks Nobu Hotels' 10th anniversary. The first, Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace, opened in Las Vegas in 2013.
The Nobu brand began 30 years ago with its eponymous restaurants, "synonymous with modern luxury and instinctive design, a commitment to fine ingredients and incredible food, and an innate passion for service."
Each of the company's hotel destinations was selected based on the success of a Nobu restaurant, which will number 60 restaurants worldwide this year, created around the Japanese concept of Kokoro – or "heartfelt" – and reflecting the brand's "strong family-feel over the last decade fueling its continued expansion."
