Sandals Resorts International has announced that its 16th resort, Sandals Royal Curaçao, is set to open on 14APR 2022 and is now open for bookings as of 04AUG 2021.
Sandals is also offering a special Grand Opening Offer for guests with savings of up to USD $1,000.
The newly named Sandals Royal Curaçao is the company's first venture into Curaçao, and is located 15 minutes away from CUR. The resort company highlights the geographic diversity of the country of Curaçao as well as the location of the resort, where guests can explore desert, ocean, mountains and shoreline environments. The resort is situated on 44 acres within the Santa Barbara private estate as well as an exclusive 3,000-acre protected preserve.
Its west-facing position offers guests views of the Caribbean sunset, and its 351 rooms and suites in 24 different room categories provide guests with a variety of accommodation options. Two new signature suite categories include the Awa Seaside Butler Bungalows and Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalows, featuring soaking tubs, private pools, butler service and convertible MINI Coopers complimentary for guests to drive while exploring the island.
Sandals' executive chairman, Adam Stewart, highlighted the size of the private preserve surrounding Sandals Royal Curaçao as a point of interest for guests. “At Sandals Royal Curaçao, guests will also be able to hike, bike and pick-up a picnic basket to fuel days of discovery and exploration. Pure romance. And they can continue this adventurous spirit beyond our gates where they will find a world-class destination of great restaurants, fascinating locals, fine art, and visitors from all over the world. We have invested an additional US$72 million in enhancements and improvements to complete the ‘Sandalization’ process of this already stunning property, and we can’t wait for our guests to be in awe,” said Stewart.
The resort will also hold the brand’s first Dos Awa infinity pool with views overlooking the sea and mountain landscape, as well as The Duchess, Sandals’ first-ever floating restaurant and bar, constructed from a 92-foot Dutch ship. Culinary options are diverse as well, with nine on-site 5-Star Global Gourmet restaurants, eight of which are new and exclusive to Sandals Royal Curaçao, including an authentic wine and Dutch cheese bar. Three new beachside gourmet food trucks will also be present at the resort, serving traditional Curaçao fare, Spanish tapas and Asian fusion. Alternatively, guests can grab a drink at any of the resort’s 10 bars.
Other highlights include three oceanfront wedding venues, a spa centre with six outdoor spa cabanas and treatment rooms, access to the neighboring 18-hole Pete Dye championship golf course, 38,000-square-feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space and two on-site marinas and 70 dive sites, among others.
