U.S. to Strengthen Air Pax Protection Rules

As the summer travel season approaches, President Joe Biden is set to announce new rules that could require airlines to provide meals, hotels and additional compensation to pax on cancelled or severely delayed flights, says a report in BNN Bloomberg.

Under the new rules, travellers in Canada and Europe would be eligible to apply for cash compensation for certain flight delays and cancellations within the airline’s control.

The president and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg are scheduled to appear on 08MAY to announce the proposed legislation.
