New Pay Deal Means Planned LHR Summer Strikes Cancelled

Strikes at London’s Heathrow Airport — which were planned for nearly every weekend until the end of AUG — have been avoided after security staff agreed to a new pay deal, reports TravelMole.

The proposal, which affects over 2,000 security staff, includes a 10 per cent pay increase, backdated to 01JAN, plus an additional 1.5 per cent rise starting in OCT. The agreement also includes improved maternity and paternity pay.
