On 06AUG, Italy implemented its COVID-19 certification system, “Green Pass,” which will be required for tourists to enter archaeological sites, gyms, theaters, indoor pools and the indoor sections of restaurants, bars and cafes. In order to obtain the pass, individuals must show they have received at least one dose of an EU-approved vaccine, recovered from COVID-19 within the past six months, or have a negative COVID-19 test result within the previous 48 hours. The Italian government announced the rule on 22JUL 2021, and 50m of the country’s 60m population had downloaded it by late JUL. Similar vaccine certificates issued by the U.S., Canada, Japan and Israel will be accepted in Italy for tourists arriving from those countries.
