A board appointed by Florida governor Ron DeSantis has asked lawyers to prepare a resolution that would void a development agreement giving Disney substantial and perpetual control over Disney World, reports the NYTimes.
After Open Jaw reported on 17APR that the state would prepare legislation to end the agreement, the state appears set to take the matter to court.
The governor has been in a long-running dispute with the resort giant. Disney World, which sits in a special district in Florida, was previously controlled by a board of Disney appointees. The state took over the board in FEB, but the outgoing board imposed special restrictions on the property, outmaneuvering the DeSantis appointees - at least temporarily.
