Florida Most Booked Destination by Canadians

Skyscanner has revealed the top destinations that Canadian snowbirds are flocking to this winter, as well as insights into prioritizing travel plans.

To no one's surprise, the company said Canadians are primarily booking warmer climates and looking for easily accessible destinations that offer both charm and a reprieve from the cold.

Here is Skyscanner's top ten most-booked destinations for Canadian travellers for winter 2024-2025, including average flight costs*:

1. Fort Myers: $282.20
2. Fort Lauderdale: $358.70
3. Nassau, Bahamas: $487.90
4. Cancun: $562.70
5. Las Vegas: $374.00
6. New York: $397.80
7. Orlando: $399.50
8. Los Angeles: $402.90
9. Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe: $683.40
10. Paris: $1,011.50

*Source: Flight prices reflect average costs for economy class return bookings made over the last six months, for travel between 01NOV, 2024, and 31JAN, 2025, as of 06NOV, 2024.

Skyscanner also surveyed 2,000 travellers to reveal top trends for late 2024 and early 2025.While 37% of Canadians are expecting to have remaining paid time off at the end of 2024, these are the primary travel reasons for the rest of the year:

• Vacation/leisure (61%)
• Visiting family/friends (28%)
• Use remaining paid time off (7%)
