Valentine's Day Travel: How the Top Ten Romantic Cities In Europe Score

It's almost Valentine's Day, and that means it's time for romance.

The folks at Ubuy.com looked at TripAdvisor data to score each European capital city for romance. The criteria included the number of fine dining restaurants, five-star hotels, and romantic tours. A romantic tour only gets one point, the same as a five-star hotel. Here's the list.

Top 10 Romantic Cities in Europe

  1. London, United Kingdom – Leading with a total score of 1505, London offers 1361 fine dining restaurants, 138 five-star hotels, and six romantic tours.
  2. Paris, France – Close behind, Paris ranks second with a total score of 1440, featuring 1275 fine dining restaurants, 105 five-star hotels, and 60 romantic tours.
  3. Rome, Italy – In third place, Rome has a total score of 916, offering 840 fine dining restaurants, 50 five-star hotels, and 26 romantic tours.
  4. Madrid, Spain – Scoring 825, Madrid provides 790 fine dining restaurants, 33 five-star hotels, and two romantic tours.
  5. Lisbon, Portugal – Lisbon ranks fifth with a total score of 818, comprising 775 upscale restaurants and 43 five-star hotels.
  6. Athens, Greece – With a score of 812, Athens offers 755 fine dining restaurants, 26 five-star hotels, and 31 romantic tours.
  7. Prague, Czech Republic – Prague ranks seventh with a score of 609, featuring 603 fine dining restaurants, three five-star hotels, and three romantic tours.
  8. Berlin, Germany – Berlin is eighth with a score of 595, offering 582 fine dining restaurants, nine five-star hotels, and four romantic tours.
  9. Budapest, Hungary – Ranking ninth, Budapest has a score of 448, with 423 fine dining restaurants, 16 five-star hotels, and nine romantic tours.
  10. Amsterdam, Netherlands – Completing the top ten, Amsterdam scores 392, featuring 367 fine dining restaurants, 16 five-star hotels, and nine romantic tours.
