ACTA Hands Out Six Awards at Toronto Industry Summit

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) announced the winners of its 2025 national award recipients on 12SEP during its Travel Industry Summit in Toronto.

Six awards were presented at the Toronto Congress Centre, where about 500 advisors and over 100 suppliers attended.

Before handing out the awards, ACTA president Wendy Paradis said all recipients are leaders in the industry.

Allison Long, founder of Live of Luxe Travel & Concierge in Calgary, AB, received the Tomorrow's Leader Award.

According to ACTA, this award honours a young professional who demonstrates leadership potential and is a role model for future industry professionals.

Joanne Gellatly, CTC, of Toronto, won this year’s Ches Chard Education Award, which honours an advisor in education and HR management. Gellatly is a George Brown College’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management professor.

Louise Gardiner CTC, CTM of Kitchener, ON, received the Gerald Heifetz Advocacy Award for her leadership in the Canadian travel industry.

With over 45 years of experience, she has held influential roles at various travel companies and made significant contributions to industry organizations. She is currently focused on helping agencies improve their operational efficiency and marketing strategies.

Lynda Tomilin CTC of Barrie, ON, received the CTC/CTM Lifetime Achievement Award for embodying the highest standards of professionalism and serving as an inspiring example of dedication and perseverance.

ACTA announced its annual Fall Summit's agenda and sponsorship details earlier this year. The summit included a large tradeshow with over 100 suppliers, including first-time exhibitors.

The event's sponsors included Air Canada and Air Canada Vacations, Globus, Manulife and Brand USA.

ACTA continues its fall summit schedule, including the ACTA Western Canada Travel Industry Summit on 19SEP at River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, B.C., and the ACTA Québec Travel Industry Summit on 25SEP at Plaza Antique in Montréal.
