Overlooking Toronto, with a backdrop of the illuminated CN Tower, Open Jaw’s Natasha McKenty savoured the taste of luxury at Toronto’s Park Hyatt hotel on 30SEP.

Carolina Bellina, senior director of Canadian Sales, Inclusive Collection, hosted the event, which focused on Hyatt’s Moxche and Secrets Cap Cana properties. Resort representatives and 100 luxury advisors were in attendance.

Open Jaw was introduced to the newest member of the Hyatt Inclusive Collection, Karla Laurenzana, who has taken on the role of luxury BDM, promoting high-end brands to Canadian advisors. Based in Toronto, she joined Hyatt in August and is "excited about the opportunity to work with such a talented team."

Along with Laurenzana, Brian Joseph, Business Development Manager, Ontario; Heather Kearns, Leisure Groups Business Development Manager, Canada; and Carla Cucurullo, Administrative Commercial Coordinator, Canada spent the evening mingling with guests and ensuring the evening was impressionable.

Master chef Daniel Manzano of Impression Moxché by Secrets and executive chef Yvann Monteiro of Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa treated attendees to the local and organic flavours of some of the Inclusive Collection's most coveted dishes.

As reported, Hyatt Hotels Corporation recently announced the return of the Impression Makers Supper Club, a series of exclusive dining experiences from the Impression by Secrets brand, which is part of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection, in collaboration with some of the most talented chefs in the world.

The 2024 Impression Makers Supper Club will offer exclusive, in-destination dinner experiences at Impression Moxché by Secrets and Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets resorts in Mexico. The Impression Makers Supper Club will offer guests a special tasting menu crafted by Chef Secchi alongside the talented Impression by Secrets culinary team.

Amongst the buzz of the intimate Toronto Park Hyatt Terrace Room, Bellina shared that the brand is continuing to experience growth in Latin America and the Caribbean region.

“Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection’s luxury brands provide first-class service that exceeds guest expectations through offerings such as elevated accommodations, unparalleled luxury, and renowned culinary programs,” Bellina told Open Jaw.

“Through this luxury event series, our dedicated resort colleagues have brought a taste of this luxury to the loyal travel advisor community in Canada, sharing unique culinary dishes and amenities that distinguish our resort portfolio and create more meaningful experiences.

“Looking to the future, we are thrilled to continue to expand our portfolio in the region with new expected openings, including Baby Beach in Aruba; Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa, opening in January 2025; Breathless, Puerto Vallarta; and Secrets Playa Esmeralda, Punta Cana.”

Bellina reiterated the remarkable year the collection has had in Canada, driven by the brand's notoriety, distinctive experiences inspiring travellers to stay present while exploring sought-after destinations, and, of course, the loyalty of advisors and agencies.

Open Jaw spoke with Lionel Gomez, the general manager of Secrets Cap Cana, who expressed his pride in the property, which is “the only hotel in the Dominican Republic to achieve the AAA 5-Diamond rating.”

Lionel Gomez, GM, Secrets Cap Cana, speaks to attendees.

"Secrets Cap Cana isn’t just a place to stay; it’s where time seems to pause,” Gomez said.

“Picture yourself on a beach so perfect it feels like a dream, with a team that knows what you need before you do.

“It’s an escape where luxury is effortless, and every moment is crafted to leave you enchanted."

Our conversation was politely interrupted by advisors who couldn’t help but approach Gomez with enthusiastic feedback about how much their guests loved his resort.

As the evening wrapped, Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets' associate director of sales, Rodrigo Centeno, shared that his property has earned the title of The Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World for 2024.

And the room erupted as attendees' business cards were drawn for complimentary stays at each of the evening's participating luxury resorts, which included Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, Impression Moxché by Secrets, Secrets Cap Cana, Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya, Zoetry Agua Punta Cana, Zoetry Marigot Bay St. Lucia,  Zoetry Curacao, Zoetry Montego Bay, and Zoetry Casa del Mar Los Cabos.
