We’ve touched down in MBJ and are excited to experience the new Riu Palace Aquarelle firsthand.
Opening its doors in May 2024, Aquarelle marks the 7th RIU property in Jamaica. Located in Falmouth, just a 35-45 minute drive from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, the resort features 753 rooms, including 180 triple rooms and 26 family suites. It’s designed to cater to couples, families, and multi-generational travellers.
Nearly every room offers a sea view, and from mine, the sight of the Caribbean Sea this morning was all I needed to set the tone for the rest of my stay.

The resort has a laid-back atmosphere, with earthy tones and natural elements enhancing its bright and relaxed ambiance.
Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities, from four pools to direct beach access. Families will appreciate the children’s pool with slides and the Splash Water World park, offering entertainment for younger visitors.

Dining is diverse, with six on-site restaurants. Options include Italian specialties at “Napoli,” Asian cuisine at “Kyoto,” and local favorites like jerk chicken at “Pepe’s food.”
The next few days will uncover more about its offerings and why this new addition is worth considering for travellers seeking the essence of Jamaica.
Stay tuned for more insights as I delve into the dining experiences, activities, and everything this vibrant destination has to offer.
