I’m boarding Eurostar for an exciting FAM to Brussels. VisitFlanders and Eurostar have teamed up not only to bring awareness to sustainable rail travel from London to the Heart of Europe, Brussels, but to experience how convenient it is to travel to neighbouring countries in just two hours.
Eurostar merged with Thalys in 2023, effectively making Brussels the connecting hub of their new network. I was greeted by Eurostar rep, Sara Espinosa, sales executive with the corporate team, at the Eurostar Premier Business Check-in, who gave us a tour of the lounge prior to boarding.
“We’re celebrating our 30th anniversary on November 13 and we’ll be holding an event in Brussels to thank our partners and clients,” says Espinosa. “We’re a big pioneer for sustainability and travel really doesn’t have to cost the earth. For example, you’re travelling to Brussels from London and if you were doing this journey by plane the C02 would be crazy. But with us, you save like 93%.”
Once arriving in Brussels, the exploration of a new city begins. This FAM will include a visit to the Choco Story Museum (and who doesn’t like chocolate!), a guided tour of Brussels with a focus on art & heritage and visiting the place dedicated to beer, Belgian Beer World. A quick train connection from Brussels will bring me to Antwerp and on a guided walking tour to the historic centre of the city and a tour of KMSKA, Royal Museum of Fine Arts to explore the recently opened James Ensor exhibition. Both the Antwerp City Pass and Brussels City Card offer entrance to several museums, attractions and more.
Stay tuned for my full article in the coming days and see what makes Flanders a prime destination for cultural experiences in the heart of Europe.
