Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts continues to grow its worldwide portfolio. The company has provided an update of upcoming new hotels and spa and golf resorts, with two in the British countryside, and one each in Cape Town, Agra, and Medina.

Luton Hoo Hotel in Bedfordshire

Fairmont is redeveloping  Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa in Bedfordshire, U.K., which is currently a 5-star country house hotel.

The project is in partnership with the same real estate group Fairmont collaborated on to develop a previous property in Windsor.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner again with Arora Group, building upon our tremendous success at Fairmont Windsor Park,” said Sébastien Bazin, Chairman & CEO, Accor, the parent company of Fairmont. “This is an exciting project, truly a piece of history in this region, and we are honoured that Arora has entrusted it to Fairmont.”

Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa will undergo a multi-million-pound redevelopment over the next few years before reopening as a Fairmont-branded hotel. The estate, which dates back to 1601, covers over 1,000 acres of pristine land on the border of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

"There are few hotels in the world with the incredible heritage and grand, elegant estate of Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa. This is a perfect addition to a collection of hotels that already includes such icons as The Plaza in New York, The Savoy in London, The Peace Hotel in Shanghai. We will be honoured to welcome the Luton Hoo Hotel to the Fairmont family, and are excited to see the property’s transformation unfold over the coming months and years," said Mark Willis, CEO, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

Other recent development news from Fairmont includes:

  • Fairmont Cheshire The Mere will open as a luxury golf and spa resort in the North West of England in 2024.
  • The Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, will become a fully branded Fairmont property by the end of 2023.
