Riviera River Cruises Refurbishes MS Lord Byron

Riviera River Cruises’ MS Lord Byron began the 2024 season having undergone a refurbishment of its public areas and cabins, as well as a full renovation of its stern restaurant. Built in 2013, the ship sails on France’s Rhône River. New furniture was added to the ship’s lounge, restaurants and cabins, and new carpeting was installed throughout. The stern restaurant received a fresh design and new décor to go along with a menu that borrows from bistros and brasseries along the Rhône, including classic and contemporary French dishes. “Our much-loved ship Lord Byron is starting this season with a bit of a new look thanks to a refurbishment that will elevate the onboard experience,” said Marilyn Conroy, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing North America for Riviera River Cruises. “We expect the new furniture and carpeting, as well as the new design and décor of the La Brasserie restaurant, will provide a warm and inviting environment for guests on our Rhône River itineraries.”

The 360-foot MS Lord Byron features amenities spread over four decks, including a sun deck with splash pool and putting green, a panoramic observation lounge and bar, a main restaurant, a stern restaurant, and a spa and wellness area. The ship accommodates 140 guests in 74 cabins and suites, ranging from 161-square-foot standard cabins to 242-square-foot deluxe suites. All feature double beds that can be converted to twin beds, a bathroom with rain shower, flat-screen TV, individually controlled air conditioning, coffee machine, tea kettle and more.

Riviera River Cruises offers a variety of cruises on rivers and waterways across Europe, including dedicated departures for solo travelers with no single supplement, as well as themed and holiday season itineraries. Its cruises include fine dining experiences, a free drinks package and expert-led excursions to iconic sights and hidden gems aboard one of the youngest fleets of ships in Europe, with spacious cabins and suites.

Riviera guarantees exceptional value, promising never to add hidden surcharges or fees, and it doesn’t automatically include gratuities, so the choice is up to guests.
