Sarah Fabergé Named Godmother of Regent Seven Seas New Vessel

Sarah Fabergé, Founding Member of The Fabergé Heritage Council and great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Fabergé.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced that Sarah Fabergé, the Founding Member of The Fabergé Heritage Council and great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Fabergé, will be the Godmother of their new ship, Seven Seas Grandeur.

The christening ceremony will take place in Miami, Florida on 10DEC, 2023. The event will also feature a performance by Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. After the christening, Seven Seas Grandeur will embark on a three-night Caribbean cruise before starting its maiden Caribbean season from Miami.

"As a founding member of the Fabergé Heritage Council, Sarah symbolizes the shared ethos and distinctive qualities that define our two eminent luxury brands and is therefore the ideal Godmother of our newest ship, Seven Seas Grandeur," said Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. "We are deeply honoured to name Sarah Fabergé as Godmother, and I am delighted to welcome her to the Regent Seven Seas Cruises family.”

Fabergé, as a member of the Fabergé Heritage Council, spoke about the ship's connection to her great-grandfather's legacy and expressed her excitement to be the Godmother of Seven Seas Grandeur, saying, “Today’s Fabergé looks to the ingenuity of my great-grandfather, Peter Carl Fabergé and his constant pursuit of excellence. I am honoured to be Godmother to this extraordinary new ship which, like Fabergé, has been inspired by the past and reimagined for the future, and I also look forward to hosting Regent guests onboard Seven Seas Grandeur for my exclusive Spotlight Voyage in 2024”.

The partnership between Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Fabergé extends beyond the ship's christening.

Journey in Jewels Fabergé egg

Fabergé will wear bespoke jewelry designed for the event, featuring 18k white gold, blue guilloché enamel, white diamonds, and pearls. These pieces will be auctioned in 2024 to support the Gemfields Foundation, which focuses on poverty alleviation and wildlife conservation in sub-Saharan Africa.

Regent's collaboration with Fabergé includes the commission of a one-of-a-kind objet d'art called Journey in Jewels. This Fabergé egg will be a permanent resident on Seven Seas Grandeur, adding to the ship's multi-million-dollar art collection.

In addition to her role as Godmother, Fabergé will host a Fabergé Spotlight Voyage on board Seven Seas Grandeur in JUL 2024. This 10-night Mediterranean sailing will offer luxury travellers small group master-class programs, exclusive shore-side tours, jewelled egg demonstrations, and informative lectures and screenings.
