Disney Imagineers are tasked with creating magic. And magic at sea is what those creative minds have developed using real-life night skies over the new ship Disney Wish in an interactive gaming experience to save the Wishing Star.

The interactive, multiplayer adventure is designed as a quest where each guest interacts with Disney characters throughout the sailing in what is being called: Disney Uncharted Adventure.

Guests of all ages become immersed in the worlds of Moana, Peter Pan, The Princess and the Frog and Finding Nemo. The game will transform the guests’ phones into a virtual spyglass, through which they can complete adventures, solve puzzles and help Captain Minnie find the magical wishing star.

Players can also use their ‘spyglass’ to transform the constellations of the “IRL” (real-life) night sky into recognizable images of Disney and Pixar characters.

This all culminates in a grand finale hosted in one of the ship’s premier entertainment venues. Guests will gather with other players in a virtual-gaming-world-meets-real-life-gamers who battle against an as-yet to-be-revealed Disney villain. Ultimately, the gamers restore the “wishing star” to its rightful place in the sky.

Disney Uncharted Adventure is designed so that guests can choose where and when to play. Families can play together on up to six devices at once, or team up on only one or two devices at a time.

Those who play again and again will discover new surprises and rewards each time. Some guests may not complete every quest but all will be able to enjoy the IRL finale event.

“We are infusing the Disney Wish with innovative technology, like augmented reality and physical effects, to create a hidden layer of magic that can only be unlocked with Disney Uncharted Adventure,” said Disney Imagineer Davey Feder.

“Guests might admire a beautiful painting today without realizing that, hiding right beneath the surface, there’s a hoard of mischievous Kakamora from the world of Moana just waiting to escape and wreak havoc on the ship. A digital menu board might showcase what’s for lunch in the afternoon, but later it will host a cooking lesson in Tiana’s own kitchen.”

More details about Disney Uncharted Adventure will be revealed in the coming months.

The Disney Wish is scheduled to debut in its inaugural sailing on 09JUN, 2022, followed by a season of three- and four-night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas and Castaway Cay from Port Canaveral, Florida.
