Sunwing Summer: WestJet Aircraft Integration, Increased Sun Capacity

Sunwing has published its initial summer 2025 flight schedule, with direct flights from six major Canadian airports to over a dozen sun destinations.

The schedule includes increased frequency to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, and St. Maarten.

Starting 29MAY 2025, all package customers will fly on WestJet aircraft as part of Sunwing Airlines’ integration into the WestJet fleet.

  • Toronto: Daily flights to Cancun, Cayo Coco, Montego Bay, Punta Cana, and Varadero, with additional flights to destinations including Cayo Santa Maria, Holguin, and Liberia, Costa Rica.
  • Montreal: Daily flights to Cancun, Punta Cana, and Varadero, alongside frequent service to other Caribbean and Central American destinations.
  • Quebec City: Twice-weekly flights to Cancun and Punta Cana, plus weekly flights to Cayo Coco and Varadero.
  • Vancouver and Calgary: Weekly flights to Cancun, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta.
  • Edmonton: Weekly flights to Cancun.

"Looking ahead, with the final Sunwing Airlines aircraft being integrated into WestJet's fleet by the end of May, all Sunwing Vacations package customers will travel on board WestJet flights effective May 29. This transition will enhance connectivity and enable us to service more customers across the country on a year-round basis, and we can't wait for more Canadian travellers, including our valued customers in the province of Québec, to experience the benefits and value of an all inclusive Sunwing vacation this summer and beyond."

With the shift to WestJet-operated flights, Sunwing Vacations includes:

  • One free personal item and one free carry-on bag per passenger.
  • A free checked bag for early bookings, with a paid option for last-minute bookings.
  • Seat selection starting at CAD$15 for Standard Economy and Exit Row seating, with Extended Comfort seats available at an additional cost.
  • Access to WestJet’s online check-in system 24 hours before departure.
