WestJet Inks Deal with Accelya for NDC Tech

WestJet is partnering with Accelya to provide its new NDC program.

An agreement that will see WestJet adopt the Accelya FLX Platform, which is used by many of the world’s leading airlines, was announced 22JUL. 

“This agreement will power WestJet's strategy to deliver guest-centric retailing and distribution, with a focus on best-in-class servicing and flexibility enabling guests to book via the channel of their choice,” Accelya officials said.

The company said its FLX Platform enabled more than half of all global NDC transactions in 2023 according to data from T2RL, an independent consultancy in travel technology and distribution strategy. Accelya recently said the platform is generating greater than 350K personalized offers per second across their airline partners.

Accelya said its FLX platform combines the power of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and the latest advanced technologies to deliver scalability and reliability while enabling airlines to efficiently present millions of retail offers across all distribution channels. Further, the company said Accelya's platform is a foundation for helping airline with Offer and Order transformation with NDC seen as a core building block in modernizing legacy infrastructure.

Accelya's NDC offering, a core enabler of airline-retail agency connectivity, links airlines with over 70,000 travel agents, including the world's largest OTA’s and TMC’s, officials said.

Delta joined with Accelya in April of this year. American and United also use the Miami-based company’s product for NDC.
