Air Transat Adds Tulum from Montreal and Quebec City

Tulum is the new It spot in Mexico. Air Transat is joining other Canadian carriers flying to the new Quintana Roo airport with two new routes to Tulum, Mexico (TQO). The seasonal service will connect Montreal (YUL) and Quebec City (YQB) with the popular Mexican destination.

From YUL, flights to Tulum will begin on 19DEC 2024, and continue until 27APR 2025. The service will operate three times a week, with departures on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Direct flights to Tulum from YQB will be available every Saturday from 21DEC 2024 to 26APR 2025.

Tulum joins four other destinations in Mexico currently served by the airline, including Acapulco, Cancún, Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta.

"This new service to Tulum is an important step in our development and diversification strategy in Mexico, one of our most important markets in the South. By adding Tulum as our third destination in Quintana Roo, we are responding to the growing demand for this region, while strengthening our position as the leader in travel to the South from Montreal and Quebec City," said Sebastian Ponce, Transat's chief revenue officer.

Tulum has become the latest hotspot for Canadian airlines this winter, with WestJet, Air Canada, and Air Transat announcing routes to the Mexican destination.

Tulum's airport (TQO), 20 km (12 mi) southwest of Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico, is a gateway for tourists visiting the Mexican Caribbean, Riviera Maya, and Yucatán Peninsula.

Transat said it will offer all-inclusive packages at over 15 selected hotels, which are bookable via all standard channels, including transat.com. Flights can be booked everywhere except airtransat.com, which will be available soon.
