Porter Airlines began daily roundtrip flights between Halifax (YHZ) and Deer Lake, NL (YDF) on 04JUN.
"Increasing air connectivity in these communities creates more choice for travellers and greatly supports tourism. With Porter's new service, outdoor enthusiasts can explore the beauty of the east coast," said Kevin Jackson, president of Porter.
Halifax-Deer Lake will be operated on the 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400.
Deer Lake is a gateway to Gros Morne National Park in Western Newfoundland.
The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its landscape was formed by glaciers and seismic activity millions of years ago. Contrasting fjords and barren red earth represent the best of natural extremes.
