Lufthansa Group Resumes Flights to Tel Aviv Next Month

The airlines of the Lufthansa Group have announced resumption of flights to Tel Aviv on 08JAN 2024.

In a first phase, Lufthansa Airlines will initially offer four weekly connections to Tel Aviv from Frankfurt and three weekly connections from Munich. Austrian Airlines is planning eight weekly connections via Vienna and SWISS five weekly flights via Zurich.

As Lufthansa is a codeshare partner of Air Canada, the aircanada.com website is also showing from via FRA to TLV as of 08JAN. Non-stop flights on AC’s website are bookable as of 06FEB. However no official announcements have been made.

The Lufthansa Group of airlines will offer a total of 20 weekly connections to and from Tel Aviv. This corresponds to around 30% of the regular flight schedule. For these services the carriers will operate aircraft of the Airbus A320 family.

The schedule offers good transfer connections from Israel to North America and back via the Lufthansa Group hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zurich, the airline said.

The flight schedule will be published on 18DEC 2023. Flights can be booked from this date onwards.

"Safety is always a top priority for the airlines in the Lufthansa Group, officials said. "The Lufthansa Group continues to monitor the security situation in Israel closely and is in close contact with the local and international authoritiesPossible flight schedule adjustments must be expected due to changing conditions."

Lufthansa Group Airlines suspended its scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv on 09OCT 2023.

Air Canada temporarily cancelled flights to Tel Aviv on 08OCT.

A note on the AC website dated 30NOV 2023 states that officials "are monitoring this dynamic situation closely and we will adjust these plans as required

"We remain in contact with the Canadian government. Air Canada will resume operations to Tel Aviv as soon as the situation stabilizes," the statement says.
