Canada Jetlines Announces JUL Delivery of Third A320 Aircraft

Canada Jetlines YYZ-YVR

Canada Jetlines has announced that it has signed a letter of intent to lease its third Airbus A320 aircraft, with delivery expected by JUL 2023.

Jetlines describes the aircraft as an Airbus A320-200, configured with the new Recaro 3530 seats, in-seat USB power, and personal electronic device holder. The airline will also install the Flymingo Box system, which offers wireless inflight entertainment.

"We are looking forward to the addition of our newest A320 aircraft which will contribute to network growth," Canada Jetlines' chief commercial officer Duncan Bureau told Open Jaw about the news. "Canada Jetlines will continue to grow with the support of our travel industry and tourism partners."

Canada Jetlines began operations with domestic flights in SEP 2022, but as Open Jaw reported 05APR, the company is now pausing service between its YYZ hub to YVR and YYC. The leisure airline says it intends to resume those routes in the fall. The company is strategically leasing out some of its aircraft for several months until the fall. In the meantime, Jetlines is focusing on its sun destination flights YYZ to LAS and CUN.

As Open Jaw reported 05APR, Jetlines says its expected new aircraft would allow the company to resume temporarily suspended routes and continue its planned expansion.

More information about Canada Jetlines is available on its web site.
