An absolutely unrepairable disservice has been done to Gucci, dahrlings. The atelier's image has been dragged through the drug infested world of rapdom like a mink stole through a flea market. Oh, and there's something about WestJet, natch.
Some barely weaned rapper prodigy called Lil'Pump, Pumpkins, has hit the big leagues with "Gucci Gang". It's a catchy number where the words Gucci Gang are repeated and repeated. And there you have it.
Except for a bit of poetic freedom where Lil'Pump disses WestJet. And why not. Profanity, check. Drugs, check. Bling, check. ..hmmm ...I know! WestJet!
The connection eludes me, dahrlings, but then everything after Donna Summer has been a bit of a letdown.
Apparently the highly recognizable tune started to play during WestJet's recent Christmas party, whereby fast acting marketing guru Richard Bartrem managed not to choke on his nog and pulled the speaker plugs. I'm thinking that DJ is lucky to get a gig at a kid's birthday party within 500 miles of Calgary now.
Well, back to wrapping my mistletoe ... fa la la. Gucci gang Gucci gang Gucci gang ..Fair warning, dahrlings, it grows on you.
