At least 17 international flights have arrived in Canadian airports with confirmed cases of COVID-19 onboard since 30JUN, according to a government page tracking COVID-19 cases in transportation (on flights, cruise ships and trains).

The page advises the list is not exhaustive and is based on information from “provincial and territorial health authorities, international health authorities and public websites.”

Affected overseas flights arrived in Canada from airports including ZRH, CDG, ADD, ISB, LHE, and DOH. Several flights also arrived from the United States – FLL, CLT, DFW, SFO, IAD, MSP and LAX – as well CUN in Mexico.

The airlines that transported the infected pax include ET, AC, AA, QR, PK, WS, AF and UA. Each of Canada’s major airports – YYZ, YVR, YYC and YUL – received at least one flight with confirmed infection.

The federal tracker provides information on affected rows, which indicates passengers considered to have been in close contact with the infected individual. They must self-isolate for 14 days following the flight and monitor for symptoms.

Those not sitting in the affected rows are advised to self-monitor for symptoms, and if they develop, should self-isolate and contact Health Links or use the online screening tool.
