EU Airlines Could Be Using New EU COVID Pass By Summer

Airlines operating from the European Union could be using digital COVID-19 test and vaccination certificates by this summer, EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders said Tuesday. The EU's proposed COVID travel certificate would contain information on vaccination, tests or recovery, and would be valid until the WHO declares the pandemic over. Europe is in the midst of its third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic but southern EU countries that rely on tourism are pushing for an instrument to help their tourist sector. They face off against more skeptical Belgium, France or Germany.
