WestJet Suspends Nearly 300 Employees not Fully Vaccinated for COVID-19

WestJet says that it has suspended around 290 employees who were not vaccinated against COVID-19, 4 per cent of its 7,300 staff members. The suspended workers are not being paid for one month and could face termination if they do not comply with WestJet’s government-mandated vaccination policy. A WestJet spokesperson said the airline has handled a “minimal” number of exemptions to the policy from its staff.
