Jamaica Reels in 1.2 Million Visitors since the Reopening

Jamaica’s Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says the destination has welcomed 1,285,368 visitors up to SEP 2021 since reopening in JUN 2020, to bring in an estimated USD $1.7b for its economy. According to Bartlett, visitor numbers were comprised of 1,276,987 stopover visitors and 8,381 cruise passengers. The forecast for total visitors by the end of 2021 is 1.57m and USD $2b for the economy. The Tourism Minister also added that its cruise ship industry is also recovering, with approximately 300,000 cruise passengers expected by the end of the year.
