Marriott Finalizes Barbados Collection Revamp with Tamarind’s Autograph Collection Reopening

Tamarind, Barbados, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, proudly announces its reopening following an extensive transformation, welcoming guests to a reimagined oceanfront retreat on the island's celebrated Platinum West Coast. More than the unveiling of a revitalized resort, Tamarind's reopening marks the completion of the Barbados Collection's comprehensive portfolio-wide renovation strategy, a multi-million investment that transformed all seven resorts across the destination over two years.

Situated along a pristine stretch of white-sand beach, Tamarind has long been recognized as one of Barbados' most beloved family-friendly resorts. After a significant redesign, the resort now offers 111 refreshed guestrooms and suites, reimagined culinary experiences, enhanced public spaces, and thoughtfully curated programming that celebrates Barbados' vibrant culture, warmth, and authenticity.

"The reopening of Tamarind is an incredibly meaningful moment for Marriott International, our team, and for the future of hospitality in Barbados," said Gastón Gonzalez, Regional Vice President, Marriott International, Caribbean & Mexico. "Over the past several years, we have undertaken an ambitious vision to completely reimagine our portfolio across the island. Tamarind's reopening and adherence to the Autograph Collection brand represents the culmination of that journey and reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class, all-inclusive experiences under Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio of distinctive brands."

The redesigned resort offers a seamless blend of contemporary Caribbean style and relaxed island living. Spacious guestrooms and suites feature refreshed interiors inspired by the sea and landscape of Barbados, while newly enhanced dining venues showcase both international cuisine and locally inspired flavors. From breakfast at Sugar Cane Restaurant and artisanal coffee at Harvest & Hive to local and international dishes at 246 Bar & Restaurant and casual seaside fare at Sugar Shack, Tamarind will be home to Caribbean Restaurant, the island’s first air-conditioned restaurant dedicated exclusively to authentic Barbadian cuisine. Guests can also enjoy multiple swimming pools, expansive beachfront areas, motorized and non-motorized water sports, wellness offerings, and immersive experiences that connect travelers to the destination.

Younger travelers will find endless opportunities for imagination and play at Tamarind with CAMP Club, an innovative indoor and outdoor space created in partnership with CAMP and Marriott Bonvoy. Through hands-on activities inspired by Barbados, including local arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and interactive adventures, children can connect with the destination in meaningful ways while parents unwind and enjoy the resort's relaxed setting.

As part of Autograph Collection, Tamarind embraces the brand's philosophy of celebrating individuality and character. Hand-selected for their distinctive vision and authentic sense of place, Autograph Collection hotels deliver immersive stays that are Exactly Like Nothing Else. From storytelling rum tastings and Soca dance lessons to authentic pop-up cooking classes featuring traditional Bajan fish cakes, guests are immersed in Barbados' culture and energy.

The reopening also serves as a defining milestone for the Barbados Collection, completing a comprehensive transformation across all seven properties. The portfolio's evolution has included the successful conversion of Waves Resort & Spa, Treasure Beach, The House, and now Tamarind into Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resorts; the introduction of Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach as distinctive Tribute Portfolio All-Inclusive Resorts; and the reopening of Colony Club as Barbados' first property part of The Luxury Collection. Together, these investments have created a diverse collection of luxury and premium hospitality experiences that showcase each resort's individuality while celebrating Barbados' rich culture, heritage, and spirit.

Tamarind's reopening also marks the completion of the Barbados Collection's Lifestyle Stretch, a curated collection of distinct West Coast experiences spanning The House, Treasure Beach, and Tamarind. The offering is further enhanced by the debut of Sandtrap Beach Club, an exclusive beachfront destination poised to become one of Barbados' newest social hubs.

"Each resort within the Barbados Collection offers a unique perspective on the island, and that individuality has remained at the heart of this transformation,". said Oscar González Ibarra, Area General Manager, Barbados Collection. "The completion of the portfolio renovation allows us to showcase Barbados through seven distinct perspectives while delivering the elevated service, design, and hospitality expected from Marriott Bonvoy. We look forward to welcoming guests worldwide to experience our authentic Bajan hospitality.

Guests staying at Tamarind can also take advantage of the Barbados Collection's popular Dine Around Program, providing access to diverse culinary offerings and experiences across participating sister properties, further enhancing the all-inclusive experience.
