Following the announcement that the The Travel Corporation's guided tour brands would adopt a mandatory vaccine protocol, their river cruise sister brand has joined in, too. Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced that it will require all guests to be fully vaccinated prior to sailing, effective as of 16AUG.
Guests must show proof of vaccination of an approved COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson), with the final dose taken at least two weeks bvefore the start of their cruise or tour. Uniworld has already informed impacted guests, and this policy will be in place until at least 31DEC 2021.

In addition to this policy, guests will still be required to wear a mask while walking around public areas, such as the corridors or the lobby, and when proper social distancing cannot be maintained. Masks can be taken off when seated in the lounge and restaurant. While onshore, all guests and crew are subject to local mask guidelines.
“We’re implementing this new requirement to ensure all of our guests are not only protected, but able to enjoy their river cruising experience to the fullest without restriction,” says Uniworld’s CEO and President Ellen Bettridge. “In alignment with many of the countries we travel to now requiring proof of vaccination to enter museums, restaurants and historical sites, our new policy enables a seamless travel experience.”

“Advisor partners and guests alike are very supportive of this new policy,” adds Michelle Palma, North American Executive Vice President of Sales for Uniworld. “Implementing this policy adds another layer of comfort in continuing to meet and exceed clients’ expectations for care and world-class service.”
