Celebrity Millennium became the second Celebrity Cruises ship to resume sailing from a U.S. port on Friday, 23JUL, with the first of its 11 round trips to Alaska from Seattle.

It marks Celebrity Cruises’ return to cruising in Alaska.

Celebrity’s Alaskan itinerary highlights include Ketchikan, Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier, Juneau, Skagway and Icy Strait Point.

"It's really incredible to return to Alaska, today, to once again support the local culture and to share its stunning scenery with our guests. It is truly deserving of its bucket list status and I have always had a special place in my heart for its incredible people and natural beauty," said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises.

"To be bringing tourism and the cruise industry back to Alaska is an honor and so important for rebuilding the economy of several key Alaskan communities. I am thankful to all elected officials involved for recognizing the need and finding a way to begin to restore their livelihoods."

All Celebrity ships sail with a fully vaccinated crew and currently require any pax aged 16 and up to be fully vaccinated as well. As of 01AUG, anyone 12 years old and up must be fully vaccinated. Requirements for non-U.S. guests and other health and safety measures can be found here.

Sister ship Celebrity Edge, which set sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on 26 JUN, was the first ship of any cruise line to set sail from a U.S. port since MAR 2020.

Sister cruise line Royal Caribbean was the first large-ship cruise line to mark a return to Alaska this month.

Other lines, including Holland America Line and Princess Cruises, also restarted cruising to Alaska this past weekend. Norwegian Cruise Line starts its return to Alaska on 07AUG.
