Derek Lloyd Moves to VP Strategic and National Accounts at Norwegian

Long time Norwegian and Canadian fav’, Derek Lloyd, has been promoted to vice president of Strategic and National Accounts with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). Lloyd steps into the role following Brennan Quesnele's departure, effective 24FEB 2025.

Quesnele moves over to Oceania as senior vice president of Sales.

Lloyd, a veteran of the cruise industry with over 30 years of experience, has spent nearly 25 years with NCL. Most recently, he served as vice president of Field Sales for North America, where he was responsible for sales strategies and fostering relationships with travel partners.

“I am very excited for Derek to take on this new role as Vice President of Strategic and National Accounts,” said John Chernesky, senior vice president of North America Sales at Norwegian Cruise Line.

“Brennan has done an incredible job at facilitating the growth of this division, and I couldn’t think of anyone else who can step into his role than our very own, Derek Lloyd. Derek has been instrumental in strengthening our engagement with thousands of partners across North America, and I am confident with his experience and passion that he will continue to lead the sales team to new heights.”

In his new position, Lloyd will oversee NCL’s strategic and national accounts across the U.S. and Canada. He will be responsible for developing strategies to drive sales growth while continuing to build and maintain relationships with travel partners.

"With over 20 years at Norwegian Cruise Line, I’m truly honored to be taking on this new role as Vice President of Strategic and National Accounts,” said Lloyd.

“I look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with our travel partners as well as our commitment to being the easiest cruise line to do business with. It is such an exciting time for the Company with the 20th ship in the fleet, Norwegian Aqua, debuting this spring, and Norwegian Luna in March 2026 as well as the recent launch of our all-new 'Experience More' brand positioning and value driven More At Sea offer, there is so much for our travel partner community to look forward to in the future.”

NCL has yet to announce a successor for Lloyd’s previous role as vice president of Field Sales.
