WestJet has announced nonstop flights from Calgary (YYC) to Mexico City International Airport (MEX) beginning 14MAY 2025.

The airline will operate five weekly flights on this route, marking a return to service last available in 2018.

"WestJet's continued investment in popular sun destinations had made us the gateway between Canada and Mexico, bolstering both countries vital commercial and tourism economies," said Daniel Fajardo, WestJet Vice-President of Network and Schedule Planning.

Calgary – Mexico City May 14, 2025 5x weekly

The WestJet Group, which includes WestJet and Sunwing Airlines, will serve 13 cities in Mexico from 24 Canadian locations in 2025. During peak travel periods, the airline plans to operate over 200 flights per week to Mexico.

Travellers from Calgary will also benefit from WestJet's codeshare partnership with Aeromexico, providing connections to destinations throughout Mexico, including Chihuahua, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Merida, and Monterrey.

The upcoming route to Mexico City is part of WestJet's broader expansion initiative as the airline prepares to introduce direct services to six new destinations from YYC Calgary International Airport this spring. This expansion represents an 11% growth in WestJet’s presence at its Calgary hub compared to the previous year.

WestJet's schedule for summer 2025 is now accessible on their website.
