Calgary Airport Joins Montreal in Launching CT X-ray Scanning

Thanks to new CT X-ray technology, passengers travelling through Calgary International Airport (YYC) no longer have to remove medical devices or large electronics--including laptops--from their carry-on.

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) says passengers travelling through YYC now have access to an elevated security screening experience.

CATSA says YYC is one of the first Canadian airports to receive this advanced security screening technology as part of its national deployment program. The program will bring CT X-ray to screening lines at several airports over a multi-year period.

As previously reported, CATSA installed the scanners earlier this year at the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL).
