Porter Airlines is inaugurating service between Vancouver (YVR) and Montreal (YUL) today.
The route marks Porter’s first Western Canada destination from Montréal.
“Our presence in Montréal is continuing to grow directly through new Porter service and with our strategic airline partnerships. Our first western route from Montréal will take Porter’s elevated economy service to even more passengers across Canada and the globe," said Kevin Jackson, president of Porter Airlines
The new route begins with one daily roundtrip flight operated with Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
The scheduled service offers various connections to Eastern Canada via YUL, including Halifax, Toronto-Pearson, and Billy Bishop (YTZ). It complements existing daily non-stop service between Toronto-Pearson and Ottawa to Vancouver.
Porter’s codeshare partnership with Air Transat provides connections from YUL throughout Europe to destinations like Paris and London.
Service from Montréal to Edmonton and Calgary begins later this spring. With the launch of the three new western destinations, Porter will operate eight non-stop routes out of Montréal.
