Chris Avery Named Vice President Of WestJet Vacations

WestJet has announced that Chris Avery, currently WestJet's Vice President, Revenue and Planning, has been pegged to lead WestJet Vacations, effective November 30th, 2009. As Vice President of WestJet Vacations, Chris will be responsible for the continued growth and development of WestJet Vacations.

"From humble beginnings, and in just three and a half years, WestJet Vacations has built a strong reputation among Canadian travellers," said Chris. "I look forward to working closely with our valued travel industry partners to enhance the experience of and value to our guests, leverage the WestJet brand and reputation and grow our WestJet Vacations business."

Chris joined WestJet in 2005 and played a number of key leadership roles before becoming Vice President, Revenue and Planning. His airline experience spans over 17 years, with positions at Alaska Airlines as Director of Capacity Planning, at Canadian Airlines as Manager of Strategic Planning and with tour operators Transat Holidays and Fiesta West (now Signature Vacations).
