President of Windstar Cruises, Christopher Prelog, marks three years at the helm of the small ship cruise line, a journey that began amidst the pandemic's challenges.
Under Prelog's leadership, Windstar said in a release that it has seen significant transformations. Windstar relaunched its fleet's operations in 2021 and unveiled three fully reimagined ships by 2022. Notably, the line's headquarters were also relocated from Seattle to Miami.
Starting as a waiter on cruise ships, Prelog transitioned from onboard duties to onshore leadership roles. As he celebrates his third year as President, Windstar boasts competitive sales, an expanded crew, newly introduced destinations, and partnerships centred around culture and the environment. The cruise line also emphasized a renewed dedication to onboard services and a deep connection with the travel advisor community.
Windstar has announced a special Windstar President's Cruise set for APR 2024 in the Canary Islands to commemorate the anniversary.
Reflecting on his journey, Prelog said, "I always look forward to the yearly President's cruise. It's a chance for me to sail with guests and crew and learn about their Windstar experiences."
Travellers who book the eight-day "Captivating Canary Islands President's Cruise," which sets sail on 20APR from Las Palmas, destined for Lisbon, have a chance to "get to know Prelog personally and spend time with him where he's most comfortable: at sea."
